I'm going to take my kids to Taiwan for the whole month of December. We leave Friday night (12/3) Any experience with relic/bottle collecting in Taiwan? I don't plan to bring a shovel, but I might try to buy some old stuff.

Hi Eric, What did your kids do to deserve such a fate? Naw, just kidding. ;D Are you staying in Taipei or going somewhere else? Hah! I guess that with the kids along you won't be visiting any barber shops over there. (Those that haven't been to Taiwan won't understand the baber shop bit).

At least you're not going in the summer, when the bugs are gigantic, the humidity is horrid and it's hotter than hell! Not sure about old stuff though, but who knows, you might get lucky. Have a safe trip!

I'll never forget my first trip to Tiawan in 1962, liberty on shore, oh man! Went to a bank & exchanged 20 dollars American into Tiawan money. All that was available was 1(one) Won bill's.
YOU GOT 40 FOR EACH AMERICAN DOLLAR. That means I had 800 bill's, I had them waded everywhere, even in both sock's.
In 1962 their average income was equal to 70 US dollars a YEAR.
Well that first two day trip, I was not able to spend that amount of money though I tried real hard.
Today, more than 40 years later, I have no Idea. Have a great trip,....................j im

I went in August one time, will never make that mistake again. The kids are going to school in the mornings, I may have some time for the "Barber Shop" but my wife (born in Taiwan) would know it right away. She got the better end of this deal, she's going to Italy with a friend. Anyways its our first time apart in a long time.
