man is it good to live in america where i can worry about shuch little things. but ahwile back a friend said he only ate out never grocery shopped for food. said he saved money that way and never had to cook. ive never tried it to calculate expenses but was wondering if anyone else had tried this theory, just spent 100 bucks at the store and didnt seem to get much, started thinking that maybe this guy had something.

One can eat out cheaper if you use all the 99c specials, even two or three at time but not only does one get fat but his exhaust pipe gets plugged way too often & after a few years of that kind of eating one finds it necessary to go to the doctor once a month while being prescribed for cholesterol & blood pressure & hgh suggar med's.
Well, you get the picture, remember what mommie said, "EAT YOUR VEGGIES" hope this helps............... ;D.....j im

Go to Costco, Eat and drink all you want from those free sample booths. Just make the rounds and your belly is full when you leave the building.
Some truth to saving money eating out, Like Jim and Tom said eat those specials and then hit Costco on off days..

I have eaten out everyday for the last 30 years or so. Don't know if I have saved any money because I havn't been to the grocery store in years. I have saved a lot of bother of cooking and cleaning up. In the past 36 years I have gained only 4 lbs.

G'day mate. Let me see....I have thought the same thing since I arrived here in the US. Eating out is cheap, and by far cheaper than back home. I live with my wife and her 2 kids ( she's American ) and they have been quite used to dining out. After a while though, the costs incurred, which are cheaper than other places is still high. The kids eat like they had their backbone removed, and portable storage units added to their legs. Jaws looked like a tame friggin guppie compared to these automated eating machines. Even eating at say "Chilli's" or "Islands" or even the "Outback" ( reminds me of home a bit ) still sends the wallet screaming for the door. But I cook, and i cook darn well. Making Chinese, enough to feed two bottomless pits, pus the wife and I, usually runs at an average of $12-15. On alternate days they get Pot-stickers ( from the mighty Costco! ) and something out of a packet, then on other nights I'l knock up a "Spag Bolognese" or so such, at the cost of a pack of minced beef $5-6, a few veges $3-4, sauce $1.50 and a packet of pasta for a buck something. The kids eat till they are in a self induced coma, and they still have leftovers to pig out on when they get home. So works a treat.
So all in all, it can be done really easy. Its just that I have noticed a lot of people prefer to eat out. *shrug* Dunno, maybe they muzzle the kids or have their stomachs stapled....*griN*

Hi Johnny, great to have you onboard. Your story really hits home, I've raised my three but they come to visit once in a while & I have to go take out a loan so we can all eat. It's wonderful though.
Hey for the guy's that eat out alot, those caught on tape things just about ruin me. Sorry for mentioning.........j im ;D
