"The Murderous Reign of Saddam Hussein"

Hello,

A local Realtor "Brad Maaske" of Visalia made a documentary movie called "WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction) -- The Murderous Reign of Saddam Hussein," and it premieres this Thursday here in Visalia Ca. as well as other selected theaters on Friday.

Brad Maaske felt compelled to made a documentary after Michael Moore released the Fahrenheit 9/11, with the help of writer-director Jano Rosebiani who in fact has produced many films about life in Iraq under the rule of Saddam.

The film is geared to give the American people a full understanding of the crimes Saddem imposed against humanity in Iraq, Rosebiani interviewed surviving family members. The film played at the Liberty Film Festival in Hollywood on Saturday and got a standing ovation. Very powerful and well presented documentary.

Brad raised $300,000 to make the documentary and will need at least a million to get the film into other theaters for the American people to see the documentary film, A film worth viewing.

I plan to view the documentary film this Thursday if tickets are still available, Hopefully the film will enter into your area.

Yes we all know the atrocities of Saddam. I thought we went to war becouse of wmd... no wmd found. how about ties to al quada...no connection found there either, Of course he didn't have any nuclear capabilities either. I knew that before Mr. Bush's speech for war and so did he! (liar)! and so would have the rest of Americans if they actually gave a damb and kept themselfs informed, but hey, Fox news or for that matter any of the so called liberal press outlets didn't inform us. Pretty scary if you ask me!. Thank God for public radio.

So now the bushwackers have only one recourse left in there efforts to keep there man in office., Saddams human rights issues,( sorry not one of the reasons Bush gave for going to war). well if they really feel that way why aren't they asking our president to take care of a the #1 human rights violator, Kim Jong of N. Korea not to mention his well know efforts to develope nukes. according to amnesty international Saddam was #3 bad guy in the world. The real truth, we went to war for oil and money. Was if worth it? Only God knows. All I would like is the truth. I didn't get it from Bush and im sorry but i don't think Im gonna get it from watching this film either.

I like most of what you say and there is alot of truth there. However, Saddam Hussein needed to be taken down but not the way we did it. Before the invasion of Iraq we had world pressure on Iraq, and the United Nations weapon inspectors were inside of Iraq doing a very good job of finding some illegal missiles and such. The United States and the rest of the WORLD would have been better off if we had waited and let the other Nations helped in the removal of this tyrant.

In regards to this new movie; There is no need to waste your money to see a movie when you can see the same thing on all the news channels. Yes, Saddam was a bad dude, Yes Saddam, killed many of his own people, Yes Saddam, would have liked to kept Kuwait and all its oil, Yes Saddam, would like to have WMD's, BUT now that the facts are out about the lack of WMD's, and Kuwait has been already liberated. Was the invasion worth the 200 BILLION Dollars and growing daily, and the 1,000 American soldiers deaths...and growing, and now we have alienated ourselves from the rest of the world. I saw on the news the other day about a Poll that was taken in Europe....the Poll was, who would you like to see as the President of the United State, President Bush or Senator Kerry. The results had President Bush in the single numbers, and Senator Kerry with high numbers. That in itself is indicative in what Europe feels about the leadership of President Bush.

In regards to going to war for the oil and money. Historically speaking, for thousands of years when war was waged the winner would get the spoils, no longer is this true. We, the United States, invades an oil rich country and take out its leaders and now we are expected to rebuild their hospitals, roadways, power stations, schools, sewer system, water systems, and etc. I bet you that there are many other countries waiting in line for such an opprutunity. I wonder if we had used that $200 BILLION Dollars here in the United States for Health Care, Educations, Roads, New Power Plants including research in alternate resources....so that we wouldn't be dependent on foreign oil, would have put our people and economy in a better situation? The 1,000 brave American Soldiers that died I'm sure would have been happier if they were placed along the American borders protecting us from the Islamic Extremist.

I really don't know what the solution is but if we continue down this road that we are on we are going to be really lost, loss of money, loss of human lives, loss
of jobs, loss of buying power, loss of medical coverage, loss of our standing with the world in regards to integrity and leadership.

What happen has happened, I look to the future not behind us. We still have respect and integrity throughout the world, Those that don't see it are just as blind as those that "don't" here in our own country.

9/11 changed our nations course and until we get rid of these thugs medical coverage and other benefits our nation has proudly provided for our people won't be the same in the future until we are safe from future attacks. We must hold on and stay the course, Had it happened later it would have been much worst.

Hi Paul,

Well spoken by a person that has a job and health insurance, but what about all of the unemployed Americans and the employeed Americans that can't buy health insurance for them and their children. So what you suggest is that these families are just out of luck when they are hit with medical catastrophic emergencies until the war on terror has been won. I guess we can tell these families it's for the good of our Country, that they and their children must go without medical help, (Democrat's and Republican's alike.)

Sometimes staying the course can cause a shipwreck...so we as Americans every four years can right the wrongs and elect a new Captain that will lead us on a new course and direction, and this has nothing to do with religion or morality.

9/11 has changed the World and most of the World is against what Osoma and what the extremist stand for, but we can not go around demanding what we want the world to do, but be a partner with the World in tackling the terrorist....so there are other ways to fight terrorism then go it alone, and obsorbing much of the cost. If we can develop a real World coalition then other Countries can assist in the financial needs to fight the terrorist and take that burden off of our shoulders and then maybe we can afford better education and health insurance for ALL American's.

How much denero do you suppose Haliburton ( MR. Cheney is retired but don't ya think things are getting a bit to cozey.) is going to reep from this debacle. Also I guess I failed to mention "revenge" as Saddam did attempt to have George Sr. offed. So did we go to war for oil, (THAT WE WILL HAVE CONTROL OVER if we win this war). money or revenge.

Certainly it was not to fight terror as George would like us to believe. If that was the reason we would be in Saudi Arabia (For the uninformed, Saudi Arabians where the fine pilots that destroyed the towers and pentigon , NOT Iraqs as Mr. Bush would have liked us to believe) , Does anyone still remember Osama, Who we had cornered. But I guess Mr. Bush felt that Iraq was more important foe. One has to ask himself/ (herself) WHY!!!!!!

Just a note,

I am a peace loving person and I felt the war in Afganistan was right and just, Woulda liked to have gone there myself. But Iraq?.... NO WAY, Bad decision bad leadership bad bad bad.

We share different beliefs, Many Americans including myself elect/support candidates of same Character beliefs and values. I know you and many others have no problem supporting those that don't, We do.

You say "elect a new Captain that will lead us on a new course and direction, and this has nothing to do with religion or morality." ............For many of us it does have something to do with religion or morality. How can we support a candidate that does not support our beliefs, issues which are morally wrong, In my case it's more of a moral obligation to help support those that promote common good.

Do you think that the Republican's have the corner on doing good things, loving God? I guess that's why our forefather's had the foresight to separated State and Religion.

Are you supporting President Bush because he's a Christian or because you think he's doing a fine job as our President?

There are million's of democrat's that are for "pro-life," but they also believe it's not the government position to dictate what a women should do with her body. Also Paul, you might not believe this, but their are democrat's that go to Christian Churches too!

The democrat's also support the protection of our environment; land, sea, and air. Where by the Republican's could care less.....check out the Republican historic record on the environment.

Yes Paul we do have some really nice folks on the Democratic side that believe in God, wanting to take care of our children's health and education, and to protect the land, air, and water that all human's that walk on this earth need.

It's so sad to hear some folks profess that the "Republican Party," is the only party with morals.

What has Jessie Jackson done to you to be so hateful, or Ted Kennedy, Barbara Boxer, Diane Feinstein. Oh, now I get it, Diane was thrown in there because she is jewish and a democrat. I sometimes feel that we have regressed back to the days of the KKK, or a Nazi state. The world that you propose would be an all white Christian's world. Get rid of everyone that is black, yellow, brown, and who is non-Christian, and lets throw in all those homo's too, and while we are at it get rid of the Hollywood movie stars.

For me I'll take all the people and their cultures and religion, and besides they are not going to go away. We as humans need to get along with everyone.
How boring this world would be without the Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, Tai, Greek, Spanish, French, Italian restaurants. What no movies or Television tonight, that's right we got rid of all those homo's and democrat's too.

I understand how you feet about my last thread, It may have hurt or wanted you to explain more about your beliefs, I understand. Many of my closest friends and family share the same beliefs as you do, Many Republicans, democrat’s, Libertarian’s as well as the Green party share your beliefs. Many of these same people share my beliefs as well, So it’s not fair to say I feel "Republican’s" are the only party with morals.

I support President Bush for the person he is, Not because he’s a Republican.

"Pro-life" A baby "an innocent human being" is always an innocent party, Even when a child is conceived through rape or incest, It’s not the child’s fault to suffer death for others’ mistakes/sins. Again, Many of my closest friends and family are for a woman’s right to choose, Many of my friends and family are for pro-life and strongly support against abortion.

"Environment issues" I’m glad we have democrat’s supporting our environment, One parties strength is anthers weakness. Same applies for other issues, Working together as a team brings strength to our nation.

Several times in my voting career I have voted for a democratic candidate being a republican member, I vote for the person they are, not because they are Republican or democratic regardless if it’s local offices, state or national.

Regardless of who our next President is, We should set side any differences and respect our President and each other as well.

now i know that celsius 41.11 will be in the movie theatres in stockton, and lodi, so i will go and see that.

one thing that i dont like to see is our forumites arguing. i really respect toms opinion, and i respect him, because he has been really kind to me.(even though he is a liberal) ;D ;D ;D. now cant we all get along?

Thanks for the kind words. Andy I'm not a liberal, I'm a realist. Like I said before I voted most of my life as a moderate Republican, but there are so many issues with the current Republican administration and I'm not going to list them again....see all my other post.
