Hi Everyone,
As you can see the forum is back, and has been updated.
There's a lot of new features, but they're not readily apparent until you start to look around.
Some of the new features are "Karma" (you can give karma points to other members via the "Exalt" link in their profile on the left side of the posts, but you can only give a karma point every hour, and "Smite" takes a karma point away), Google search of the forum, spell check, and picture hosting here on the site (which I have not yet turned on, but might by the time you read this).
If you depend on emails to let you know when you get a new PM, you have to explicitly turn that back on (go into the PM section, go to preferences, and toggle the setting to 'yes').
After we've had some time to kick the tires here, we'll do a poll to see if you like it, or if we should go out and search for a new home.
Have fun!

Commander Jeff..
Thank you sir! I haven't been on with any frequency the past few days..and I knew the upgrade was coming...but!
When checking last night and all the proboard stuff was floating around telling of new features..etc. I mistakingly (?) registered on the proboards thingy...thinking in the meantime, I'll check out the General talk, to see what people were yapping about.
Well...there wasn't any names I was familiar with..and I think it must have been during a period when we were out of the loop.
That sentence "there will be an influx of browsers at this time"..blah blah bah...kinda confused me.
Bottom line..should I cancel my registering there?
I got the private "e"-mail key for activation regarding that site... thinking it was neccesary and was part of re-registering when the forum came back up.
But this morning..I got the activation key I assume that was sent to forum members.
So Jeff...did novice boy..here, mess up?
Sorry to bug you..my man.
Thank you..over and out

Yes Jeff, Super job. Hmmm what's that red-letter message at the top of the Forum main page?
We will be setting up a new forum this weekend...stay tuned for information.
More changes in the work? What do they call that here in Silicon Valley?
Exponential Technological growth?

Hey Rudy, It means that this forum has 2 major problems that they are not willing to fix:
- AOL members are left in the cold due to activation email stubborness - "Too many connections"
I've got another forum in the works, this one *should* be much better. If I can get the time this weekend, I should be able to make it all spiffy and we can move over there (if folks here want to). We can leave this forum running for archival purposes.
I really hate moving around so much like we have, but each time, it's been for good reason. Hopefully this will be the last move in a long time.

Onwards and upwards. Besides, the smileys don't work. (imagine an emoticon here). Hate for you to be spending prime hunting time doing this for us. It's a shame to lose some of the good folks simply because AOL is being a$al retentive about SPAM.
