Found this token today and it says LEE`S BILLIARDS FOWLER,CALIF/ GOOD FOR 2 cents. It`s made of aluminum. Anyone know if it`s a rare one? I have a couple of token books that Paul loaned me and I can`t seem to find it in either book. HH denny

I don't see it in the first kappen's book. Are you sure it says 2 cents, or does it say 2-1/2 cents? The normal denomination for values that small was 2.5 cents, d/t that would've been change for a nickel, in the case of items that were "2 for a nickel". I've never heard of a 2 cent token. If that's what it is, maybe it'll have value just on those merits alone? Drop a line to "tokenking@aol.com"

Nice aluminum token denny! It's not that bad of shape for aluminium token. All my aluminium tokens were in worse shape.

One more thing: Fowler is a 3 token town, in the original Kappens book. Not sure how many more were in the subsequent editions, but assuming only a relative few more, that is still a small town. The less tokens attributed to a town, the more the value, d/t the harder it is to get a token from that town (for those that try to get 1 from each town in a certain geographic area).
Although yours is not a drink or saloon or bar token, it is a billiards token, which is a plus to the value I think. (At least the billiard tokens with the table pictured on them are)

Thanks for the update Tom.
The 2 books I borrowed from Paul are Kappens. 1 was printed in 1976 and the other a few years later. The token i`ve been looking for from Fowler is the CYCLONE SALOON token made of brass.

I checked my list and do not find this token listed from Fowler. I do have a list of 12 different old Fowler tokens. I have been looking for the Mint Saloon from Fowler. I know a collector who has the token. Their are two great tokens from Fowler. The other is the Cyclone Saloon. Those footprints in the lot were mine. I always hit empty lots after they are ploghed. I did find items in every lot I hit in Fowler including some silver but not tokens recently. A friend of mine who does not detect found a Fowler token on top of the ground without using a detector a few years ago. I was there and witnessed him finding the token. No matter how many times I try the lots I find more coins. I found some good targets next the Ritz. Post the two Fresno tokens and I will give you info on them or send me a private message. People collect billliard tokens which show a billiard company from SF on the reverse. The obverse had the local merchant advertising and the revese had the advertising from the SF billiard table maker.
Oldfresno
Club Guss (now Popsie's) issued a token for 2 cents.

Hi oldfresno, The Lee`s billiard token is from fowler. I checked it over and over. Could you please send me a private message of the list of fowler tokens you have I really would appreciate it. The only other token from fowler I have is Club Guss token I found accross from the bank. Below is a pic of the fresno tokens I found at the fresno community hospital demo back in 2000. HH denny

I went back to Fowler Sunday and found a bunch of pennies and a few marbles. No silver or tokens. About 50% of the cents were wheaties
