Nothing really...... I've always just goofed around with my kid brother when he would take his detector out. QUarters, pennies, beer bottle caps Once came across parts of an old plow that was buried where there used to be a town on the riverbank. My grandmother just gave me her late husbands White's, and it's caught my attention. I've used friends goldbug's while up panning in the mountains, but want to start learning with this. I know technique, just not tactics or places to look. I'm also a history buff, so I'm hoping one day to have a great story to share about a piece I find. Work restricts me to the local area at night, but weekends I might be able to work in short day trips. My name is Dave, by the way, and I'm in Fresno.

Hey Dave that mean's it just took a little longer for the bug to bite you ;D ;D I live north of you in Lodi. A thing to keep an eye out for is demo's and sidewalk repair's.When there repairing a sidewalk you need to jump on it fast. They usually have those done with in a couple of day's.HH,Tom

ok, I looked and the detector I have is a white's 5900 DI pro plus. It's older, and is different from the one on the white's website that is listed as a 5900 di/pro. Probably an older phased out model.

Double forehead slap! I looked again last night because I knew I didn't have it right. It's a 6000 di pro plus.
