OOPS!!
So, Raise your hands if you ever tried the railroad tracks when you first started detecting..........
Now, keep your hands up if you ever did it again......
That was easy exercise. If your hands are still up, could you please tell me that you actually found something besides a million fragments of just about everything known to this earth.
Wow, my hand is sore from collecting all that junk, and not a penny for my thoughts either.
Today was a learning exercise with the new MXT. Like it alot. Even tried the smaller 4x6 elliptical DD coil around an old property. Not much but scrap and .... scrap.
The great thing about this hobby, is that you learn fairly quickly, get to see things you would ordinarily not, and there is usually a tommorow for another go at it.

you gotta be in the right spot. i've detected several different RR track areas. done pretty good. found indian cents, barber dimes and quarters and a few seated dimes. try looking at some old maps and see what was near the tracks. USGS has some nice maps you can look at for free online.

Thanks Ralph.
That was some cool information. I will always look at a nail differently when I am around the rail tracks.
