New to posting photos on the forum, this may help. First You'll need a means of getting the picture on to Your Hard drive of Your computer. Weather its from Your Flat bed scanner or your digital camera.
I think it's best to create a folder on Your Hard drive where all Your pictures can be stored. My is Metal detecting and have four years of finds stored there.
How is this done? Well, My hard drive is My C drive so I brought up my c drive up, showing all the files that are stored there. Upper left corner is the File tab, click on it. Below it a box will open up, top tab will be New. Drag your mouse to New and click, and a box will open up to the right of it. The top tab there will be New Folder, drag your mouse to New Folder and Click. You'll notice that You have a new folder listed there with the rest of your hard drive folders, and files. The name will be New Folder and probably be highlighted. If not Highlight it, and press backspace. Now give your folder a name that represents your metal detecting pictures. when saving a picture that you just downloaded to your computer from your scanner or camera. It will open a box giving you a place to store downloaded file. To the far right of that destination is a tab with an up side down triangle, Click on that, a box will open up under that. Follow the choices down to You hard drive, click on that. Now with you Hard drive folders and files showing scroll to your detecting folder, double click on that. Now your detecting folder will open, showing all your down loaded picture files. Now click on the Save tab, and your new file will be saved there. You can create your detecting folder anywhere you want to, the object is to be able to have someplace to store your pictures for uploading to the photo server.
When using Your camera Your downloaded camera software will show you what to do get to the saving point.
Using a Scanner to save a picture of find. Your scanner will options of paper size, color and resolution. I have a little tip for the paper size. This will help to make a photo of your finds without copying the whole scanner screen. Select the Auto format, lay your finds on the glass of the scanner. Now cut out from white paper a frame to go around your finds. Then scan them, this tricks the scanner into thinking it's scanning a photo with a white border, and will automatically scan that. You can also just lay a piece of colored cloth over them, anything to trick the scanner to think it's scanning a picture.
You now have photo files downloaded to Your computer, and want upload them for Forum viewing. You can use any uploading site You want. The one that Jeff has posted, is simple and easy to use. Click on the Link Upload-It!
The site Upload-It! will open up scroll down to the bottom of the page look for this
