Looking for hints, pointers, how spots, other detectors in the area... free time I've got in spades. I'm happy to research, if that's needed.
I -think- I've got the easy stuff out of City Park (Sacramento at Louisiana) but I've heard there's some good stuff to be found there. It's been there at least 100 years; the house I'm in was built in 1885, but there's so much trash my Sovereign nulls out, while the CZ 70 I sent back was locking on dirt balls. They'd ring out as high silver until broken up. At least the Sov doesn't do that, or "pinpoint" somewhere between two targets.
I've got a lot to learn! Oy! HH

Hi Erik, if I had you're time and a house built in the 1800's I'd be out there clearing out the buried trash in hope of finding some goodies. I'd start with a small coil and work my way up to my big coil. Sounds like you live in an area with lots of possibilities. Good Luck and HH

Just about any time, Bud. Yesterday was a couple of new-to-me parks, today it's looking like a Marin county beach. Drop me a line at erikhal@pacbell.net and we'll figure it out, ok? Erik

HEY ERIC I WENT OUT TO VALLEJO YESTERDAY. GOT TWO WHEATIES, GOT THEM SOAKING RIGHT NOW. ABOUT 6" DEEP I THINK I'M GETTING BETTER DEPTH NOW, STILL TRYING TO TWEAK WITH THE XLT. ABOUT 8 YEARS AGO I GOT A BUCK KNIFE OUT OF THAT PARK YOU MENTIONED, IT WAS ABOUT 4" DOWN AND THE WOOD STARTED TO ROT AWAY.

Binder, I have found some collectible toy cars in the play area. I know a good place to hunt in the vallejo area, but I need to ask permission from gvrd, it has a no trespassing sign. Let me know when you're available, I will hunt that area before x'mas. Merry Christmas to all. Glen Cove

Hi Binder, I'm a little ways away from you, but I'm a Sovereign abuser. Unless it heavy iron trash in your yard, all other trash is no match for a sov.First, what coil you using? In trash, try a8 incher.Next, keep it in disc mode, BUT disc at ZERO!Now go slow. No, I mean SLOW!Crawl that sucker around, just barely move that coil.Listen carefully for slight high pitches, or any light sound that you can repeat at least one way.Around a piece of trash, if your like me and are to lazy to remove it, listen for any tone changes on the edge of that trash, or listen to see if it sounds 'wierd', like 2 different tones trying to break through.Investigate all these, and youll be rewarded. If I'm ever heading that way, I'll get a hold of ya.If you areever in the Stockton area, get a hold of me and I'll try to help you with that sov.Good luck-Ray

Binder,
I'm over the hill (but still in my thirties) in Fairfield. Would enjoy getting together sometime.
