I have an aunt who lives in Pebble beach and when i first got my classic ii, i went to a local beach. I found a Fossil Watch, a gold ring, and a silver ring, and various change. I dont know if the 2 rings r worth much but there is stuff to find round them parts

Nothing is wrong with Monterey there just aren't many oldies on the beach. I live 200 feet from the Monterey beach and hit it once in a while. The city rakes it every couple of weeks so any big stuff gets cleaned out.

Monterey is one of the oldest areas in CA - and some of the oldest coins around have come off beaches in the Monterey area...it's not a question of if they're there, just when You're not going to find many oldies in the summer time, ya gotta wait until wintertime and let mother nature bring them up for you.

I've never hunted Monteray beaches, but I know at least one forum member has made some amazing finds there.
