Try the site www.theunderstory.com. Lots of great info on how to get coins into $$$ without paying Coinstar's 9% premium.

I took 40 pounds on coins into my bank last week and asked how much they charged to count and deposit into my account. 0% was their answer, now this is Bank of America, the same bank that always tries to come up with new customer fees. I poured all into one very heavy duty plastic bag and guessed at the value. I said $300 knowing it was a little on the high side. It actually came out to $277.07 My other bank (Quacker) just started charging 3% the beginning of July. I have to trust B of A, as they send it to their main office to count. But at Quacker you can watch the machine count and you know all your money goes in.

That is incredible that B of A didn't charge you, Dan. I'd stay away from Quacker since they can look over and glare at you when a crusty zinc memorial cent jams their machine

We get free coin tubes from wells fargo bank. Then we fill them up and take them back. The bank empties the tubes into their counting machine and voila!

I also used to get coin bulk bags from the bank. The ones for pennies held $50 worth. You still had to count them but you didn't have to roll them. Dan3
