Norm's website is what got me really interested in metal detecting. Sad thing is, he died in 2000 (I think) a few years before I started hunting. I tried to get in touch with him at the beginning untill I found out what happened. The site was up for a long time after he passed away. I am sure he had pre-paid his web server time. Then the site went down for a long time.
I have my own web site and I also do my clubs web site. I wanted to preserve all he had written so I tracked down his one of his friends who helped me track down his wife. After, months of letterwriting and e-mailing I gave up on getting her to give permission to put up his work. She would not return any mail or e-mail.
I am rather surprised that this web site is back online. I am glad though. The new site owner is John Jomp from Orlando. He was a good friend of Norm's. Thanks John.

Thenks Dan for all your hard work to keep his web site alive. I did spend some time tracking down Paulette (Norm's wife) but that was as far as I got. I know she got my emails as they did not bounce back as undeliverable. In my many requests to her I let her know how important Norm's writings were and how future beach hunters would benefit. Maybe she asked John Jomp to put the site back up.
