hi i live in the east bay and i need to use a metal detector, hopefully for under an hour, to find a lost item. please reply if yu can help!

No detectorist in their right mind is going to hand over thier $500-$1000 investment to somebody they don't know.
If you need to find something, ask a club to help you out. Safety in numbers, and we love to help.

Rathbone is right. Besides, you'd be at a disadvantage trying to use one yourself without the knowledge to do so.

I know where you can rent a detector. BUT, it depends on several factors;
1. What you are looking for 2. What type of ground (environment) your target object is in. 3. Does the machine match the environment? 4. A bit of luck. (A bit of skill wouldn't hurt, either)
