Thanks Tristan. Wow, most 15 year olds have never even heard of the movie let alone know any of the cast members. My brother gave me the two tape set for my birthday which includes interviews of many of the stars. Love the scene with Jonathan Winters and the gas station ;D I don't think anyone has mentioned "THE JERK" and the guy that "hates these CANS"!! Clyde

Wow....I see the titles of many movies I have forgotten about.
Here's a couple off the top of my head. (Gerber...you exposed junoir to some quality filmage..my man)
Man in the wilderness That was killer flick I don't think alot of people saw.
Outlaw Josey Wales
Little Big man
Paint your wagon
The stooges..of course. Forget Joe deRita..or any one who tried to fill Curly's shoes..later. Shemp was underated.
Marx Bros flicks..duh.
The Big hotel
Day at the races
W.C. Fields..in the segment of "If I had a Million"..where him and his wife save to finally buy a new car..and when they leave the dealer's parking lot..some "roadhog" wipes out their (him and his wife's) new car..but he gets even later...big time!
Also "The Bank Dick"..and many others of his.
There was this movie, with I think Glenn Ford about the treasure in the superstition mountains..can't recall the actual name. Saw it when I was a kid..and was glued.
Shane..was an entertaining flick when I was younger..loved the fight scene.
Later..as an adult..it was still pretty good, but that kid whining "Shane..Shane" "Shane..where are you going Shane?"..grated on me a bit.
Rashomon.. Akira Kurosawa film..you think an awful lot..then you think somemore.
Then when you think you've got it figured out. You think some more..great film. Kurosawa made some great films.
Someone said.. Big Red one.
That was very good movie..Once again..I haven't heard that movie mentioned as much as it probably should have...it was a nice surprise.
Rear window...duh
Once a great notion
Here's a weird one..I guess it would be called an independant..or "art" type of film..a little out there. Filmed in the Australian..or New Zealand "out back"..or "Bush"
Walkabout...a little disturbing at times. But I couldn't stop watching it.
Let's kill uncle.. This film I saw when I was pre-teen..on a Saturday night. Mom and dad were out playing bridge..and my brothers were watching something in the family room.
So I had to watch it on a small B&W T.V. in my brother's room..with an earphone in one ear.
A famous director who's name escapes me..did some mainstream films. This was a dark film about two kids on an island who find out their uncle is trying to kill them.
So..they turn the tables..and try to kill uncle.
I've searched for it on the web...it's known but not available..as far I could find out. I guess it would called a thriller.
American Werewolf in London
One of the first films in recent years..to tackle the "werewolf" theme...with new..really great special effects and make-up.
Entertaining as hell. Uh..sorry..heck!
Gotta mention classic cartoons...not T.V. cartoons. The classics that were first shown in the theatres.
You know "Merry Melodies" "Warner Bros" etc.
Mel Blanc...god..what can I say about the guy...a true friggin' genius ! What would life have been like..if Mel had never existed?
I just loved the man..always was amazed when watching the cartoons he lended his voice..and spirit to.
One guy..doing all the voices in the same cartoon..orchestra accompaniment..the whole sha-bang!
Just a genius..really!
Jeez. Sorry..got alittle carried away..as per usual huh?
Better let some others chime in...before I keep going!
Thanks for the topic..fun!

Love the category and I just love good movies. Jaws Chicago (must be seen on the big screen) Jurassic Park, the kids put it on and I always end up sitting down and watching it. Gone with the wind. A classic. I love Clark Gable. The Thin man movies.......all of them. Unfaithful a couple yrs old and mostly unseen. The Godfather Saga The Public Enemy, Little Cesaer, any old black and white gangster movie. James Cagney and Edward G. Robinson are awesome. The Shogun t.v. movie Alien, truly scary. Casablance, Key Largo, African Queen, guess I like Bogey. The Haunting, another very scary movie. The original "Flight of the phoenix" Giant, Rebel without a cause. San Francisco with Clark Gable Double Indemnity, Strangers on a Train, Rope, anything Hitchcock The one with Christopher Reeve and Michael Caine and it has lots of twists in the plot, anyone know what the title is? Inherit the wind. To kill a mockingbird. A man for all seasons and Becket (peter otoole) The Sting, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid Out of Africa...........beautiful scenery and score From here to eternity. Lawrence of Arabia The Philadelphia Story Okay, I've got to go watch something good now. thanks for a fun subject.
