Having a pretty bad week so I thought I would go over and hit the place in the rain. A squall went through just before I got there and the place was empty except for a few dogs walkers. They happened to be were I planned to hunt so I decided I would swing wide and around them and as they leave I would move over. Jeez, I didn't even go ten steps and a got one of those deep iffies. Up pops a gold plated pin holder kinda looks like the back of an old cuff link. I thought maybe I can find what was on the front of it. I circled the area slowly and I got a good signal. It was my first seated! I keep looking at the back but there is no mint mark . I was very happy though ;D. I kept my circle pattern going hoping I could still find the other piece of the cuff link. I get another signal this time it's a barber and an older one. now I am in shock but keep my pattern going. There was another signal but it was mostly iron. Nice small pinpoint so I decide to dig it and out pops another barber! MT valley wasn't looking to empty at the moment. My wife called to tell me she was home and I told her I would be leaving in a few minutes. I kept my pattern going and got the V. Really bad shape but the date is readable (1909). Best 2 hours I have ever spent there. Mike and thanks in advance.

None of the coins have a mint mark. Would have been nice if either would have had and S.

Congratulations Mike on your first seated and an amazing bunch of finds!! Fantastic fabulous foursome!! Did you get a chance to thank the dog walkers for getting in your way? Mayeb next time bring some dog treats and leave them scattered around randomly. Gary

Splendid from the pro-prooving-grounds! Ok, here's the drill:
How deep was each of them (esp. the seated, huh? huh?), what part of Big Rec. was all this at? Nice! Oh, and if you think of it, that's unusual that your '03 wasn't an S, seeing as, afterall, you ARE in SF! haha. Most coins are S's there. That woulda been a good date if it had been.
