Hey everyone, I need a sand scoop. I've been drafting (in my mind ) a scoop made out of 4" PVC, but could use some help or suggestions. Do any of you guys know a good site that has directions for making a decent sand scoop? Or would it be more prudent to buy one? Thanks in advance for the advice. Dan aka-SuperChicken

Probably better to buy one - I'd guess a PVC scoop wouldn't last long in the dry sand, and soon you'll really want to dig the wet sand A lot of folks like "The Scoop" - it's a little different than a standard scoop, kind of a cross between a scoop and a shovel. Your local dealer might also have standard scoops which you can try and might like just fine. That's what I've always used and been quite happy.

I love the sand scoop I got from Rick on this forum. Take a look at past postings on the For Sale board--you'll find pictures and a good description. It's an excellent design, works great, and is virtually indestructible.
If you want to view a whole lot of different designs, Reilly's online has an awful lot to choose from. I got a very nice short-handled scoop from them.
