That was a fun read. Thanks for the link. I wonder if any Taco Bell customers have ever found a penny in their taco?

That was great. Good job.
Now your next assignment, getting the crud off of silver and leaving a nice white, silver finish.

As we all run over to our local Taco Bell, they might think it's a movement and stash the sauce. And put up a sign, one packet per taco. All sauce is kept behind the counter for security reasons. Or worse yet they will charge for it. Thanks for the great info on cleaning pennys. HH Vern

Very interesting. Does anyone have a formula for the amount of salt vs. vinegar?

This was very interesting! I loved the "science" of breaking down the EXACT combo. Dirty pennies here I come!

i discovered this neat and cheap cleaner one day while having lunch at Mickey D's. instead of using the little ketchup cups my friend pumped the ketchup onto a napkin on his tray. instead of putting his change in his pocket he had thrown it onto his tray. when we were throwing away the trash, we noticed the shiny superclean pennies and figured it was the vinegar that had caused the reaction. i had never tried hot sauce before, but i have tried it with different fast food ketchups, and Mickey D's wins the contest. their ketchup got the pennies the cleanest! thanks for the scientific explanation....oooh now i wonder what it does to our innerds? nikita

I've had some 1940s wheats soaking in olive oil for about 2 weeks, and it had hardly made any difference. I mixed a teaspoon of salt with about a half cup of vinegar and within minutes you could see the difference. ;D
