Hello everyone I just found your site and just recently received my new DFX talk about intimidated . Some advise I have heard is to start slow with the factory programs before making any adjustments and get to know the machine that way however I dont think I am finding much below say 4 inches and was wondering if anyone could suggest some simple tweaks to help in searching the bad ground I have here in South texas thanks to all and HH

Welcome aboard Texasdave: Like Tom said this is one addicting hobby. I also have a DFX, I'm still learning it also. I've been pretty lucky using the factory settings, since I'm basically hunting only beaches right now, when it starts to get colder. I'll venture out to the parks and really start to learn the machine. The factory settings I've found items as deep as 8 1/2 to 9 inches with no problem. Set up a small test area in my back yard at different depths with different items in them. I really like the DFX and looking forward to learning more of the settings myself. Sent you a PM. Welcome Dave I had a long hard look at the DFX but decided to go with the MXT in the end. There are a few guys here that can make the DFX whistle Dixie and I am sure they'll help you out.
