Try going UNDER the peir. I have had luck there. It's been a couple of years since I have been down there. The beaches there are pretty pounded as you are discovering. HH Blue

Good luck Vern, Is this with the new detector? Just keep trying different places and different techniques and you will soon figure out how to get the good stuff. I think the key is to not get discouraged easily. I am looking forward to you posts, JimClick

Vern Dig EVERY signal at the beach that is conductive(positive) The pull tabs and foil you are passing my been gold rigs with diamonds. The beach has a higher concentration of this than almost any place else that one cn hunt at.....

Now I know what the pull tabs sound like. way to many at the beach & aluminum twist caps also. Well Vern2sjc it sounds like you were in the right place. All those pull-tabs and bottle cap mean is the other guys disc them out or don't dig every signal. Clean them all out and go over the area again. Thats the way to find good stuff. I once followed a guy that had one of those detectors that tell you what it is before you dig. He would get a signal and call back to me bottle cap, or foil, or pull-tab. At the end of the beach we compared our finds. He had .78 cents in mostly pennies. I had a handfull of Pull-tabs, a handfull of bottle caps, No foil, $9.32 in change (only two pennies) and a large silver man's swing ring that was stuck inside a bottle cap! I use a simple beep and dig whites surf PI Pro. If beach hunting is done right there should be no signals left when you leave(and of course a pocket full of gold). GP
