Hey all ! I'm a newbie who's spent quite a while lurking around the various boards and am fishing for some suggestions I'm looking to buy a unit to use in the NorCal/Sierras area. If I'm mainly interested in both coin/nugget shooting, what would some of you recommend. I've been eyeing either a Tesoro or a Whites DFX. I'd appreciate any feedback & have noticed that a lot of folks are pretty adamant about their favorite brands. Price range is $600 to $800. Thanks,
Rezonate

No I use a explorer xs,but there are some folk's on here that use them.If you go to the main forum and ask about it you should get some more help. Also I do beleive the MXT is better on nugget shooting then the DFX,but I'm not 100% sure since I have never used one. Also if you go to the treasure depot and click on classified's you might find one in there for a decent price and maybe some extra's with it,we also have a classified section too.I'm not sure if you can access that area yet,you have to have 10 post to get into the member's area only.HH,Tom

Hi Rezonate,
I would definitely opt for the MXT rather than the DFX. It is not as good for nuggets as a dedicated machine, but it is a close second and an excellent coin machine. It is also easier to learn than a DFX.

Thanks for the great link Tonka, that really put it into good perspective for me. Since I'm new to this, I think the MXT will be the way to go, great features without breaking the bank. Thanks to Tom and Rudy for the additional info. Now to get my machine and head for the hills !
