The MXT is a good all around machine.
Where are you located?
look forward to seeing you post your goodies in the near future.

welcome!! i have to plead ignorant on the mxt, unless you mean xlt?.but welcome to a hobby that pay`s you back ! and if you havent detected before,be patient it`s a long learning curve, when i started i used a pretty cheap detector, then moved up through the ranks. my favorite one was the whites spectrum. we bonded i guess. but i never relied on the target i.d.,i just liked the performance of the unit. also i like to hunt in the all metal mode, till i get a signal. then swich to descrminate for the detectors opinion. you would be suprised how many targets are in fact good/deep targets that your detector rejects, and in some of these so called "hunted out areas" that`s all you have, so good luck .

Ron, I am in Ukiah, Mendocino County. Hey Zman the detector is the Whites MXT. It shares some of the programs of the DFX but is different. I also scuba dive so I hope to find a good water detector in the future. I bet there is a fortune with my name on it waiting to be found. LOL... Sure is fun thinking about it!!! Aaron

scuba diver!,man, that is a plus!and yes there is allot to be found , at one time i had purchased ring boxes for all my gold rings, can`t recall the count but at one point i could fill my king size bed ,putting them 3 inches apart from one another, i also had 5 pounds of silver jewelry, a 5 gallon bucket of lost keyrings, another of hot weels, a third for scrap copper and other junk, geez, what a haul i had. anyhow i had to have surgery, medical bills mounting , being out of work, i eventually sold most everything that was worth anything, but i was glad it was there, it really filled in the money gap after my surgery, but no matter how much you haul out of the surf, there is always more. for all of us!! good luck.... zman

Thanks Zman! I don't think there are many guys out there hitting the underwater stuff. I hope to find some of thoes areas that are just out of reach of the regular detectors. We'll see what happens. Hope I end up with buckets of stuff also. Aaron

pages.prodigy.net/bestsmileys1/emoticons3/welcome3.gif [/img] Dive for treasure, sounds like fun to me. I love the beach and use a whites p.i. Got my kids up to level 5 of red cross swimming and want to get them to scuba. Ulterior motive, I want to dive for treasure too!! Some day. Go for it and welcome aboard. AG
