SVDB club meetings are the First Thursday (NEW CHANGE FOR 2005) of the month and we meet at the old SMUD Building/Water Quality Building at the intersection of Elkhorn and Don Julio in North Highlands. ( Elkhorn/Greenback Exit off I 80) Take Elkhorn about 1 mile. Turn right on Don Julio and turn right into the first driveway. We meet in the back right corner fo the building. Meetings start at 7:30 but most members start to show up around 7:00. Meetings usually wrap up around 9:30 and a few of us hang around until 10:00 or later telling BS stories of all the treasure we find and trying to convince each other that we know more than everyone else! All welcome to join or just visit. Refreshments provide (Soda, cookies, donuts etc) Show and Tell for previous months finds Membership Drawing Coin Raffle. We usually have a pretty good time so stop by if you get the chance. HH Ron (CA)

Ron, I'm looking forward to attending a meeting with you guys (hopefully next month). I've really been taking this hobby more and more serious this past year and bought my MXT back in February. I live in Orangevale. Always looking for people to detect with and learn from.
Take care!
John

Hi Ron, Went from an XLT to an MXT and to an Explorer XS. WOW!!!!---what a change!!!! Ace tells me I need to catch up with you so I can learn some tricks and get some questions answererd. I will try to make next meeting - but location is far away from me. If you get a chance, call me at home - you can get my number from Ace at the Gold Mine. Thanks Darryl :

I would like to join the club very much. The problem for me though is that I work for a grocery store chain and Wednesday is "ad day". I have to be at work sometimes as early as 1:00 AM Wednesday morning and by the time its 7:00 PM Wednesday evening I'm zombied out. Can I still join and receive the benefits of being a member, even if I don't make the meetings? There is a "news letter" right?

Yeah you can join even if you don't make the meetings.
We usually have 3-5 hunts a year (planted silver coins) that are on the weekends. We try to have a couple of field trips (on weekends) and some people get together 2 Sundays a month for a "Day in the Park" hunt.
email me direct if you are interested and I will set you up.

You will see all the cars in the back right corner of the parking lot. The door is on that side.
Hope you can make it.

Meeting is on the 1st. This is our X-Mas meeting so it will not be a typical meeting. Less babble from the Pres - More social and casual and a lot more food as we do a pot luck goodies table.
All you have to do is show up and see George -our membership chairperson. Pay $20 for next years dues and you are a member.
We will be giving out around 20 extra door prizes to 2004 members but we will have about 40 coins in our coin raffle that you can buy tickets for. (Unless you wanted to pay the $10 for the 2004 membership and participate in the door prize raffle.)
Members are also bringing in their best finds for 2004 so it should be a good showing. You are welcome to bring in your best finds also.
I would guess there will be around 70+ people for this meeting so it should be a good time.
hope you can make it.

Hi Ron, Thanks for the info. Are children welcome to the meetings or is it usually just adults. Thanks, John

We love having kids a the meetings. The X-mas meeting is real casual so the kids will have a good time. Plenty of treats too!!
I usually let the kids draw the raffle tickets!! Get's them invovled and they seem t enjoy it.
